Dana Ellyn and Matt Sesow: Remastered

Posted December 04 2014

October 12-November 4. Opening reception Friday, October 12, 6-9pm.

DC based artist couple Dana Ellyn and Matt Sesow return to FOE with their dual takes on politics, pop culture and reinterpretations of classic paintings. Before they met, Ellyn and Sesow were making some of the same decisions about their lives.  Both left corporate careers to pursue art full-time.  And both share similar world views and fearlessly address politically divisive topics in their work.  Sharing the same stomping grounds and objectives, led to mutual respect and eventually marriage.  Ellyn’s style is more narrative, story-telling and processing the world around her with vibrant colors and deft composition.  Sesow is equally engaged in world affairs and commentary, but his technique is more punk rock, self-taught, expressionism.  Like many creative couples, they come together to support and learn from each other, while maintaining their own unique styles and trajectories.  Sesow opened his first solo show in Massachusetts at FOE’s first art opening in March 2011.  Meet Ellyn and Sesow at the opening of their Remastered show October 12th
