Horst to Holyoke: A Father-Daughter Memoir about Storytelling, Memory, and Meaning Making.
Horst Ollmann was born in 1935 in a seaside resort on the Baltic Sea called Horst Seebad. My father recorded stories of his childhood, WWII, escape west, life as a refugee, settling in Solingen, Germany, then emigrating to America in 1959. Horst traveled from Horst to Holyoke, which is where I was born. The second half of the book is stories I wrote about my father and how memories and meaning are passed down through stories and experiences.
8.5"x5.5" hardcover with a jacket; 100 pages and 25 images.
